Smarter, safer and more efficient rig operations with ABB and PARAT
Offshore rig operations are energy intensive. Significant amounts of electric power is consumed by the various processes required to drill the wells into the reservoirs that provide us with fuel.
Finding new ways to increase the efficiency and safety of these operations is a task that most forward thinking rig operators have placed high on their agendas.
ABB, in cooperation with PARAT Halvorsen AS have developed a smart solution on how to store and utilize the electric energy generated by the drilling drawworks dynamic braking systems and at the same time providing a better working environment for the maintenance and operational personnel.
