PARAT Halvorsen AS is proud to be awarded this prestigious Steam plant for Norway's first Carbon Capture project. We will supply a modern 8MW IEH High Voltage Electrode Boiler for steam with 22kV connection. The design pressure is 13 barg with the design temperature of 195°C. PARAT will also deliver a large 45m3 Degasser, skid with circulation pump and chemical dosing. We also take care of the start-up and training of the customer's operating personnel.

The Electrode Boiler is delivered with a service platform, and delivered with 300kW heating elements that will keep the customer's system warm without having to turn on the high voltage switch.

The Carbon Capture Plant LANGSKIP
The Carbon Capture plant will be built at Norcem's cement factory in Brevik. The plant will be the world's largest carbon capture plant connected to a cement factory and capture around 400,000 tonnes of CO₂ each year. Longships also include the Northern Lights transport and storage project, a collaboration between Equinor, Shell and Total. Northern Lights will transport liquid CO₂ by ship from Brevik to a receiving terminal in Øygarden in Western Norway. From there, CO₂ will be pumped down to a stable storage under the seabed.

Aker Carbon Capture is the main contractor for design, procurement and construction (EPC) and will use its patented technology for carbon capture. The company is responsible for the delivery to Norcem HeidelbergCement of a completely new plant for capture, intermittent storage and relief of CO₂, with integrated waste heat recovery.

Aker Solutions has been awarded a contract by Aker Carbon Capture for the delivery of engineering services, procurement services, as well as engineering and management support services (EPMa) for the carbon capture plant. The contract has a value of around NOK 500 million.
