4 new PARAT ORO boilers to Remontowa Shipbuilding in Poland

Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. has signed a new contract with Siem Offshore in Kristiansand, Norway for further four new PSV’s. For these new buildings they have once again chooses to provide the ships with boiler plants from PARAT Halvorsen A/S.

Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. has signed a new contract with Siem Offshore in Kristiansand, Norway for further four new PSV’s. For these new buildings they have once again chooses to provide the ships with boiler plants from PARAT Halvorsen A/S.

Part of and included in Parat’s scope of supply will be combined electric steam & hot water boilers with capacity each of 1250kW. In normal vessel operation the boiler is part of the hot water and heat recovery loop and supplies necessary additional heat to the HVAC, Sanitary and tank heating systems on board. If an oil spill disaster should occur, the boiler will be re-mobilized to run as a steam boiler. The steam is used to maintain viscosity in the recovered crude oil emulsion in the ORO storage tanks, complete accordance with the NOFO requirements.

The vessels to be build are of Wärtsilä Ship Design VS 4411 DF. The vessels shall have an overall length of 89 meters, a beam of 19 meters, a deck area of 970 m2 and with a capacity of 5,500 dwt. The vessels are equipped with high power supply and offer excellent station keeping and the highest redundancy capacity.

The vessels shall have dual fuel systems, LNG and MDO. With a new diesel/LNG-electric propulsion system, complete equipped for rescue class for 300 persons and fire fighting II class, the ships are build according to the most stringent PSV’s rules and demands of today.
